ART DESCRIPTION
Anthony Ugbo is an autodidactic figurative realism artist. In his most recent body of work, the series titled "oneness," He tries to question certain events in his desperation to document events. In a desperate attempt to document the events in the society on a global scale, He tries to question certain happenings.
Anthony Lives in a time where the subject of race has become a very heightened issue where the question of black identity and the relevance of supporting or fighting for the injustice of black through the power of art has become very consequential.
Instead of focusing mainly on promoting or glorifying the black identity, he decides to start a conversation by drawing a black and white subject in a double exposure form. With this, he tries to start a conversation and investigate why segregation is a topic. He tries to use his body of work to bring back to our consciousness that all races are meant to exist as one, and our existence on earth is interwoven, our existence is supposed to achieve balance, our existence in the universe is interdependency. We are meant to co-exist and not to fight or hate one another.
This series tries to bring back the consciousness of the unity of race and clear the topic of segregation with his work by mixing this very controversial subject into one piece. He hopes to bring to our awareness that we were supposed to exist as one in a state of balance free from racism.
So, in a bid to fight racism through his works, he plays the role of an artist.
